Native Californians, dedicated to growing our small-scale homestead and raising our children to steward the land we live on. We love making fresh sourdough with loads of butter and honey slathered on top as a meal. We believe in clover as a lawn and so many flowers growing you can't see the ground beneath. And candlelight beats a lightbulb. Always.
Busy Bees started with our friends up the road — artists who made beautiful beeswax candles we fell in love with on a cold winter day in 2020. In 2024, when they were ready to retire, they asked if we wanted to take the torch. We said yes before they finished the sentence.
We source, render, pour, dip, and package every candle by hand on our homestead. We hope the light from our candles brings peace and well-being to your home — and helps save the bees while it's at it.

What is the white powder that is on my beeswax candle?
Glad you asked! That white dusty looking powder is called BLOOM. This happens when the natural oils and resins found in pure beeswax float to the surface when exposed to temperature changes. Generally bloom is a good sign that you truly have pure beeswax! If you don’t like the look of bloom, simply take a soft cloth and polish your candle to remove it.
